This is what FYRE festival was supposed to be. Just watched this last night. It was one of the most unsettling, yes just down-right UNSETTLING, and gorgeous horror films Ive ever seen. And Ive seen probably hundreds of them. Also, this film contains some of the most realistic depictions of tripping Ive ever seen in a film. EDIT: I just wanted to let people know I feel as though this film was unfortunately marketed to make it seem SUPER scary, when in fact the director himself said if you go in expecting to be scared shitless you will probably be disappointed. Its more of a folk drugsplotation black comedy analyzing a failing relationship and dealing with grief. I feel like people didnt know that some parts were intentionally funny, aka that Christian ass grab by grandma) so they write it off as being a failure of a horror movie when its not even suppose to be a straight horror piss your pants film.
The best visual representation of a trip (going in and out of. The absolute subtlety of the visuals was astounding. Midsommar ost. Have you ever had a drink with an iceberg? They are in no way pretentious. I still have dreams that Im stranded and walk through the forest to find this place and they are all nice but I know Im doomed. This movie sticks with you.

“Back at the hump barn” ??????. Midsommar dance scene music. Spoiler: The whole conclussion with Dani smiling at the last shot is her finally overcoming the toxic relationship with Christian and the tragedy happened with her parents and her sister. She lost a family and found a new one which is fully accepting her in their ranks.
